So far so good there have been four amazing methods that work fine on any device, to change IMEI on your phone that runs on Marshmallow 6.0, Lollipop 5.0 or KitKat 4.4 is very easy with this MTK Engineer Mode IMEI Guide. You can use the Engineering Mode(MTK) app, Chamelephon App, Mobile Uncle Tool app or USSD code. If none of this works on your MTK Android device, your phone is definitely not a Mediatek processor. This article will tackle the problem of how to change IMEI of all MTK Android devices without much ado. It has been tested and works fine on all MTK devices such as TECNO, Infinix, Huawei, Injoo, Lenovo and many other Mediatek enabled brands.

METHOD 1: How To Change IMEI Using MTK Engineering Mode App

A unique IMEI tweaking tool, it has my favourite out of all. This app doesn’t need root access to work, simply install and tweak with ease.

Requirements

FOLLOW STEPS BELOW

Step 1

First of all, generate your 15 digit Blackberry IMEI or other IMEI you want to write/rewrite/flash/change (see how to generate blackberry IMEI)

Step 2

Download Engineering Mode (MTK) from Google play store here.

Step 3

Open engineering mode » Click on  Engineer Mode (MTK) » Swipe left to Connectivity » click on CDS Information » Radio Information.

Step 4

Click on phone 1 if you want to change your sim 1 or choose Phone 2 to change sim 2 IMEI, follow this guide:

For Phone 1: “AT+ EGMR=1,7,”YOUR NEW IMEI NO” (make sure you add a space in between AT+ & EGMR) For Phone 2: “AT+ EGMR=1,10,”YOUR NEW IMEI NO” (make sure you add a space in between AT+ & EGMR)

Step 5

Press the “Send At Command” (You should receive a message that your ‘AT command sent)

Step 6

METHOD 2: How To Change IMEI Using Chamelephon App

This method requires root authentication before working, in essence, you must root your phone before you can use this method.

If you’ve been searching for how to change IMEI on Marshmallow, then this will work great for stubborn Marshmallow 6.0 Device. Works like magic!

Requirements:

FOLLOW STEPS BELOW

Step 1

Run and install the downloaded Chamelephon app on your device

Step 2

After installing, open the Chamelephon app, then click on Authorize root permission if asked for root access as seen below.

Step 3

The first box is for the IMEI of the sim 1 while the second box for Sim 2 but that’s if you are using a dual sim phone.

Step 4

Make sure you have prepared or generated the IMEI you wish to flash.

Step 5

Now that the IMEI is ready, go ahead and insert IMEI in the spaces provided and click the “Apply New IMEI ” button below.

Step 6

Confirm the change, do this by rebooting your device (see Android rebooting tips above). Dial *#06# to view your new IMEI.

METHOD 3: How To Change IMEI Using Mobile Uncle Tool

Mobile Uncle Tool app is very similar to MTK Engineering Mode, the unique differences are that MUT requires root authorization to function. In essence, you must root your phone before you can use this method. Perfect for all Android OS excluding Marshmallow works best on older Android OS, i.e, Lollipop 5.1 below.

Step 1

Root your mobile phone with any rooting app. Mobile uncle requires root access. If your device isn’t rooted click here to learn how to root your phone.

Step 2

First of all, generate your 15 digit Blackberry IMEI or other IMEI You want to flash in. (see how to generate blackberry IMEI)

Step 3

Download and install Mobile Uncle Tool. (Download here)

Step 4

Open Mobile Uncle » Click on Engineer Mode (MTK) » Swipe left to Connectivity » click on CDS Information » Radio Information

Step 5

Click on phone 1 if you want to change your sim 1 or choose Phone 2 to change sim 2 IMEI, follow this guide:

METHOD 4: How To Change IMEI Using USSD Code (No app involved)

Have you been looking for a less stressful method, try this… Just a line of USSD code instead of downloading and installing the Android applications used in changing IMEI. You don’t need to install any applications for it to work on your Android smartphone.

FOLLOW STEPS BELOW

Step 1

Navigate to your phone dialler and type any of the USSD code below.

#7465625# or. ##3646633##*

Step 2

After loading Engineer mode, Click to call pad or connectivity options.

Step 3

Locate CDS information and tap on it.

Step 4

Now to change IMEI number, follow…

For Phone 1: “AT+ EGMR=1,7,”YOUR NEW IMEI NO” (make sure you add a space in between AT+ & EGMR) For Phone 2: “AT+ EGMR=1,10,”YOUR NEW IMEI NO” (make sure you add a space in between AT+ & EGMR)

For example; AT+ EGMR=1,10,”123456789XXXXXX”

Step 5

Press the “Send At Command” (You should receive a message that your “AT command mSent”).

Step 6

Reboot phone (Turn On & Off Airplane mode)
